Washington Harbor Kayak Tour

Departing from public access at Dock Road, where you can view the remains of the original harbor dock, we paddle the shore past the geological wonder of Schoolhouse Beach. Continuing to follow the shoreline, arrive at the massive wreck of the Louisiana. Sunk during the “Big Blow” of 1913, one of the worst storms in Great Lakes history, the remains of this once proud steamer lay just below the surface, a mere stone’s throw from shore. The tour concludes with an open water dash across the harbor to the launch point. Restrooms are available at Schoolhouse Beach.
